the MKG went on a UFO weekend to Que city . wehad a marvelous time , got there friday P>M had supper then , sat in the lobby and chatted and knit. I had a great room mate. Sat we went a muesum to see the students knitting , very very nice, and then to the wool shop of course, where they have a lot of sock yarn ( a whole room of it ) so bought 2 balls for socks and 3 shawl pins, and ebony needles for socks.
then we went back to the hotel and went to one room , where we snacked and had wine, then off to dinner in a great restaurant , we were in a room by ourselves and had two waiters and soft piano music in the back ground. then back to hotel where sat in the lobby and knitted the nite away
sunday it rained so i just went to a gift store and did some xmas shopping, and then just sat in the lobby and knit again,
every one that passes looks at us like what knitting in the lobby . then back home sunday afternoon

I went to the knitting course by Lucy Neatby, on saturday and sunday, very ,very nice, really enjoyed it and learned a lot, only hope i remember it when i go to use it. the button hole course was wonderful, and she had beautiful things kniited up, the double sided blanket was so nice and all her colors are so nice.
She is a great teacher and has so many patience, she helps every one , she goes around the tables to every one . and her patterns are well written.
I mailed off my purse to my pal today, hope she likes it. and all the goodies in it.

also my birthday, my family and friends had a supper at a restaurant for me on sat. i was surprised.
i am still knitting on my sweater, but want to start my vest from ( grand river yarns). i knit 2 pair of mitts for the mitten challenge at guild . on feb 13th,
we will be having a pyjama party and watch a movie abour knitting of course,
should be fun.

Well 2007 is her,e had a very quiet new year's eve, and day
I hope to finish a sweater and vest i have had on the needles for a long time, i give myself to jan 31. i also have to knit a pair of mitts for the challenge at the MKG in feb.
no picures santa didnt bring me a new camera, guess i was naughty lol

We are suppose to have snow here in montreal this time of the year but instead we had a thunder storm, and lots of rain, I finally finished my shopping and gift wrapping, just have to mail a few parcels tomorrow.
I am now knitting a hat for my step grand son with a wolf on it, he is so into wolves, and then i knit for my self.
I also have to amke a xmas stocking for Justin, my 10 month old step great grandson.

today we started off by going to lunchwith our boss, (i only work march and april). Friday is my annual Xmas party, i have been having it since 1988, only missed one year. about 16 ladies get together and we play silly games for little prizes and have a good time. this year i changed the scene a bit, the ladies have to come dressed in what they were wearing when they opened the invitation. some got caught in their pyjamas.
in knitting news i finshed the 2 hats with the moose and now wwant to start one with a wolf, when i get the pattern. also knitting the kal dish cloth.

friday again and another month half over, about 6 weeks until Xmas, I must get busy and get my shoppin done and also my knitting, I am knitting hats with moose on them for my son ans his wife as they go norht for the holidays and if i have time i will knit great grand son a hat with thomas on it as that is his favourite thing now.
my dishclothes are ready to mail to the swapees.

I received my beautiful box for the snowman swap all the way from Mary in England, the box was so nice with a snowman on the cover and in side, a mug, soap, candy, a felt advent calander, snowman mug that has a straw , tree ornaments, stuffed snowman , ear muffs with a snowman to go over the ears. a pillow cover, allsnowman. to day i took granddaughter shopping, ever go shopping with a teenager and boyfriend following behind. she got 23 prs. jeans, running shoes. pyjamas. and a book.
tomorrow we go to the theater to see assorted candies. no ideas what it is about, but it is local talent and they are usually pretty good.

guild meeting

Tuesday was our guild meeting, we have several new members, one young gent joined last nite, he seemed to fit very well, he is knitting (he says a Londaon Style ) scarf, it os black mohair and is now 7 feet long., we started to knit our rainbow shawls, we have 9 different colors, one color per row, we leave a lenght of yarn about 6 inches for the fringe, they will all be different colors. mine is in the blue purple ranch with some teal and black.
Thursday I go to make jewellry about my daughter-in-law's craft store.

Received my box from the tea swap 2, everthing was so nice, I got 3 pks of herb teas, 2 tea blossoms, 3 pks cookies, candy, 2 balls of confetti yarn in blues, beige and green for socks, 2 skeins of alpaca in blue and browns hand painted, a pewter bookmarker in the shape of a teapot, all nicely wraped, From Denise in Calgary.
today I mailed my 3 swaps off to the indiviual swapees.

Rain, rain go away

It is always raining here in Montreal, Yesterday I went for allergy tests, and the doc said it has rained so much he would test me doe mold, but I was okay, I couldnt have the live tests because I failed the breathing test.
, so have to go back
Last nite I took a car making course, I made 2 Xmas cards, I really enjoyed it, I made all my cards two years ago, so got some new ideas. On the knitting list, i am knitting away, on the dishcloth kal and some secret project.
also windng my yarn for the rainbow shawl, we will be starting on Tuesday at our guild meeting .

Had quite weekend, today was our first Knitting Bee, there are 4 of us, we get together, once a ,month , for gabbing, good food and some knitting.

I am knitting on the KAL dishcloth no, it is a nice pattern, with a varigated cotton yarn, in green, tan and white, vvery pretty. also knit one for the exchange of another group, in tan with a turkey motif.
I am also knitting on my sweater, the left front but cant seem to get the pattern to reverse, (or may be its my brain that wont reverse ).
when my camera is working again i will put up pictures .

shooting in montreal

One of our colleges in montreal,had shooting today,there were several people shot some serios. they finally shot the gunman.
the college is at the atwater metro (subway). where there are office and shops and food courts. in alexis nihon plaza, dawson college and westmount square which houses office, shops and a medical center, which i went to day for x rays,
when i finished at the clinic i decided to see window shopping . the take the bus home , thank goodness i did as i would of had to pass the college, that is about the time of theshooting.
Last nite was our first guild meeting, we had a large turn out , and i got a lot of knit s for my charity, ( the battered women shelter). we knit scarves, mitts and hats.
we had show and tell, there as alot to see , women made a felt scarf (it looked like the hand made paper, very cool.

today my friend M and I going to go seniors swimming, we go every tuesday P,M, for 3 hours
yesterday another friend and I went to my daughter-in-laws to sign up for classes, she ahs a craft store. we signed up for misc, one day class.

Yesterday I went for a course in microsoft excel , only to find out my tape is no good. Today I was suppose to go a jewellery making class and that was cancelled because of not enough people. oh well that is life
Today I will work on my swap bag and try to finish my scarf before the guild meeting. it is sign up night and show and tell, the things we knit in the summer

I finished knitting the bag for the purse swap. my pal wanted a knitting bag, so i made one, have to line it and buy the handles for it,
I just finished reading the Debbie Mccomber latest book in the cedar coves series, now we have to wait a year for the next one, as they are continued stories

Saturday's outing

My knitting buddy and my self went to the Brome Fair today, It was a beautiful day for the fair. we met several people we knew. one member from our knitting guild had entered several things in the contest, she won first prize for 2 entries and third prize for one entry.We saw lots of old farm machinery and other things that brought memories of my child hood. Sone very nice horses with the kids riding them. also all of hens, geese etc. baby gosts and baby sheep.
I just found out I won the bingo on the Canadian dish cloth contest,

Wedding

I went to my nieces wedding on saturday, It was held in the golf club house where her father is a member, everything was very nice. I went with my son and daughter in law and grand daughter.We stayed at the Best Western Hotel, and had a lovely brunch on aSunday morning before going to see my brother and has wife.Then home in a very rainy day and lots of traffic when we hit Montreal.

I got my package from from my secret pal today, (annette). a lovely bag, sock pattern, 2 skeins of kiogu yarn in purple pink tones ( my colors), a sheep tape measure, bamboo needles, needles to seam up my knitting, stitch markers, some choc covered pretzels, all very nice.

Our guild had their knit out on Sat. in a park, the park was lovely and so was the day. We were by a lake. My friend and I got there at 10 , nobody came so at 10.30 we decided to eat our lunch and then leave, we were just leaving when some more people came, after 11. there was only 8 of us, but we had a good time talking about yarn and knitting. We plan to go to the Brome fair on sept. 2 so should be nice to see. that's all for today
